For the second part of your message, you can try this:
For R1: ValueWhen(1, Ref(H,-4) = HHV(H,9), Ref(H,-4))
For S1: ValueWhen(1, Ref(L,-4) = LLV(L,9), Ref(L,-4))
It will probably speed-up a lot of things.
