The US markets were closed from Tuesday to Friday last week, as we all know.
When I downloaded the data on Monday evening (9/17) from my data provider
(Telescan), instead of there being NO price/volume data for any stock for
those dates, I see that all 4 days have the closing price of Monday listed
for these 4 non-trading days and volume listed as zero i.e. there IS data
where there should be none, and its all nonsensical.
Possible solutions I can think of:
1) If I delete the data after Sep. 10th and download again, I again get the
same result, so that doesn't help.
2) Another solution is to open the data file for each symbol individually
and then delete the rows corresponding to Sep. 11 - Sep. 14. However, this
is a gargantuan task considering that thousands of stocks are involved.
Metastock's Downloader does not give an option to delete data from a
preselected date range, only Before or After a particular date
(Tools\Delete\Data). Anyone have any idea how to get rid of data for these 4
dates (9/11 - 9/14) quickly and efficiently, while preserving all data
before and after those dates? Thanks in advance.
