You are right on target.
I'm afraid that congress has given Bush a blank check, like the one that was
given to Johnson, which led to a widening of the Viet Nam war.
If we try to invade Afghanistan we'll met with the same reception that the
Russians did. I think that we should do the harder, dirtier, less
spectacular things that might reduce the problem.
Last night I heard on TV 2 theologians blaming the terrorist attacks on our
sins of abortion, lesbianism, and homosexuality, and no prayer in the
schools. While I am not debating these sins, does any serious person believe
that if we had none of these sins in our society, the terrorists would not
have attacked us? The Russians are guilty of the same sins, when are the
terrorists going to attack them?
