fire or theft.  Maybe not likely, but it does happen as I can certainly 
attest to.  Three years ago, a lightning strike while we were on vacation 
caused a fire that gutted our house.  Now, there is always a backup drive 
in a fireproof safe.

  drives are connected but the O/S only see's one drive.
