No - no fighter jet could do so with the firing rates on taday's cannons.
They are designed to use a targeting system that fires when the target is
'locked' onto, and fires a bunch of shells in a few seconds. You only need a
few hits on today's lightweight aircraft to damage one severely.

And it is a shorter range, and not necessarily smaller and lighter than the
same weight of cannon shells. The missles are designed to take aircraft out
at longer ranges.
The old days of chivalry are gone. Armies use artillery to destroy infantry
before they can close with the other side's infantry.Aircraft shoot other
aircraft down at 100 miles + so there is no need for 'dogfighting', no one
on one. You overwhelm with technology and force.
