I think it uses the high the low, the open and last for all the prices of
the week and the volume equaling the summation of each trading day of that
week. This week always ends on Friday. For dates other than Friday one gets
the last week's plot price representing less than one week.
There is another option: selecting the number of days compressed and then
the end day is the last day of data in the data base. I use this one as I
prefer to look at weekly data during the days of the week for an uniform
data presentation. For weeks including holidays it still uses the last five
days of data. I have not been putting in the code that tells the system that
day was a holiday as I simply skip that data entry in the data base.
The other reason is I use Meta Stock formula ability to calculate the weekly
Advance Declines by summing up the last five days of advances and declines
and then calculating the weekly AD.

Anybody know how weekly data is calculated from daily?
Is it the mean of the last complete week (i.e. M-F)? implying no value until
the Friday's closing prices are in!
Thanks,
Sean

Sean,
as far as i know, there should be no practical difference between a), and
b), other than you are collecting more data.
as far as i am concerned, daily data (and using the "change periods"
option) should be just fine.
best wishes.
