Upgrades in Microsoft leave debris in the registry and are not a great idea.
A fresh install is the best. F Disk and start over. Short of that, scandisk
(thorough), defrag and try again. Do you have a program that will allow you
to clean the registry such as Fixit, System Mechanic or RegCleaner?
