Re: Changing from MetaStock List to Online Forum

Seems to me from reading some of the posts that some Equis Listserver
members are under the impression that if the Metastock list moves to a Yahoo
E Group they would lose the facility to make and receive posts via email.
This is not the case.

Yahoo Groups allows individual members to configure their own profile and
determine if they wish to receive posts via email or visit the web site to
view them. Even if you configure for reception via email you can still go to
the web site to view and search all messages. The search facility is
extremely useful allowing you to quickly scan all messages for specified
subjects/keywords.

To summarise then a move to Yahoo E groups does not represent any change in
the way Equis Listserver members are accustomed to working - the only
difference members are likely to notice are reliability and speed (posts
normally appear within a few minutes).

Lastly, I cannot see any argument in favour of Equis continuing to run the
Metatsock list on their own servers - they are not in that business and
should be happy to offload it to a specialist like Yahoo. IMO Equis would be
better off concentrating their resources on R&D for the core Metastock
product.
