Hi

I recently bought IBM Thinkpad T20 with Windows 2000 preloaded. When I
reinstalled MetaStock 7.01 EOD version, everything seemed OK at first. But
then I started to notice some strange behavior with MetaStock

Explorer was about 4 time slower and it appeared as though there were more
disk i/o and MetaStock was struggling with each counter.
Intermittent problem of MetaStock "crashing" when File>Open menu was
selected
Also after extended use say about 2 hours, MetaStock would "crash"

To confirm this, I reconfigured the ThinkPad T20 by installing Windows 98SE
and ran MetaStock again.
The Explorer was back to the normal speed and was able to complete complex
searches 4 times faster
No more "crash" when File>Open was selected
Extended use does not cause MetaStock to "hang" or "crash"

However, I did notice one problem in Windows 98SE though, once a while if
you select "indicator builder" without a chart opened, MetaStock would
"crash". This was happening on both my new ThinkPad and Desktop running
Windows 98SE.

At the moment, I have decided to use Windows 98 SE for various reasons over
Windows 2000. I may switch back to Windows 2000 later.

Hope this helps

Siva
