Volatility

Hi all

I am very new to this list and only purchased Metastock 6 months ago. I
have studied how some indicators actually function and to understand them
fully I have written a Visual Basic program to emulate the functionality -
the program can read MS file structures ( this aspect alone took some time
to achieve). That's the background. 
What I am studying now is Volatility and I cannot find all that much
written about the subject. Can anyone throw me a few formula   (apart from
what is in the MS 6 Manual) or point me to a web site(s) with further
information on the subject or a technical book on how to construct such
indicators.
