Thanks to all and particularly Kevin and Joe.
Although Kevin's trick works fine, Joe's one needs half less operations to
get the same result. For this reason Leo, I suggest you to note Joe's
method.
It's very interesting how a group as our can be resourceful to help each
other develop one's tools.
I've asked the same question to Equis support and got an answer which is not
as smart as Kevin's and Joe's. FYI below is Equis suggestion.
Again, thanks to Kevin and Joe and good trading to all.
Robert

Robert,
The best way to do this is to open the smartchart and make
changes right in the smartchart itself. The layout is a picture. It is
basically set in stone. How do you change a layout? Take a new picture.
It is not recommended to try to change a smartchart from a layout. It
would be very easy to get crossed up.
Thanks,
Doug

Make the chart you want as the smart chart the active chart. Open Window
menu and select New Window (This creates an exact duplicate of the active
chart). Open file menu, select save as, change save as type to smart chart,
click save (in ver. 6.52, check the save as smart chart box)
