I thought that Windows on Wall Street was bought by
Omega and promptly discontinued. I spoke with Omega recently and was told that
they are only promoting their high end software. They are not promoting
SuperCharts anymore. WOW was very similar to Metastock, but no tech
support and when I phoned I had to leave a message on an answer machine (
this even beats Omega's reputation for tech support).

Subject: Re: Real Time Dataproviders for
MS RT
Theo I have been going over similar thoughts you are. I
currently use IQCharts, which is non MS, and of the stapshot variety real
time. It has been very good for about $35 per month.

I am considering going back with Signal, having subscribed to them, off and
on, over the last 5 years.
Several brokers have a Signal fee rebate program so that as long as you
make so many monthly transactions with them (as few as 5 I think), the
Signal fee is minimal. Although Signal man still supply only a 50 ticker
capacity with their minimum acct, you might like the fact that, if your
brokerage account is active enough, your RT charts will be almost free.
You may have to speak to a Signal sales person, to learn which brokers offer
what.
Look into it, and let me know what you think. I have been
procrastinating, but hope to go back with Signal soon....maybe my Dreyfus
account will still qualify for a rebate. Signal often offers a one month
free introduction period at shows and seminars.

I have friends who swear by WindowsOnWallstreet. They offer a one or
two week try, but I have never cared to take the trouble to look. There
is always much to relearn with new software.
