I had attended a presentation by Online Investors Advantage in
Singapore, which was used to attract people to attend their investment
course, and signed up for their website service.
>From what I know, they devised some kind of trading strategy, that they
claimed to produce spectacular results, and giving a lot of testimonials
from satisfactory users (?). (I got a funny feeling when I heard the
presenter mentioned this every time a spectacular results was presented:
"Now, I am not saying that you can repeat this result, but this is
....")
The way they do it seems to hover around: alert of insider buying, alert
of buying by respected investor such as Warren Buffet, using of
technical indicator (MACD, Stochastics MA cross over, and others) that
give buy/sell signals, and take confirmation by some kind of weightage
or happen within certain no of days. Parameters, seems to vary between
volatile counters and less volatile counters, are not revealed during
the presentation and we are asked to attend their course so that they
will teach us all those tricks. The information is typically available
through their website if you sign up for their course, with search/sort
function available. There maybe other technique but was not reveal
during the free presentation.
Lastly, the course is not cheap. It had a price tag of US$4900, for a 2
days course in weekend, plus certain access period to their website for
info/alert/signal. I think they offer self study course at US$3200 if
one find that US$4900 is too steep a price to pay.
