Ron,
I've been working on this 5 day conversion for 2 months and I've reached the
end of my rope, so to speak. As far as languages go, I'll probably switch
it over to Excel /VBA or VB. FoxPro is another possibility as we have
everything already written in Clipper, so the only real conversion would be
the user interface. I'll probably mull it over this weekend. I'm basically
lazy, so I'd prefer to select the "easiest" way to go as I would prefer
developing trading systems as opposed to programming them. :)
I sent a note to George at MS Support since Ken is on another project for 4
weeks or so. This is my last gasp effort.
I have the system running in Excel (the basic system), so the only thing to
do there is the interface to MS through OLE. Had it working in the past, so
this shouldn't be a problem. Will want to try to develop some methodology
for our dad to keep working on indicators which he does fulltime. He's use
to working in Clipper under DOS. We might have to keep that going for him
since he's 91 and probably not too interested in learning another language.
Especially since he's been working in DOS or CP/M since the early 70s.
I'm trying to get the Carerra 2 Cab out of the shop to sell it to pay off
the new car. With my fifth grader, I'm getting caught up in car pools, etc.
and his school is "up the hill" and away from here by about 30-40 minutes.
I ended up buying an ML-430 and will probably add the M-7 option shortly.
Never thought that at my age I'd be worrying about car-pooling. :)

Guy-
You've been threatening for months now to "give up on Metastock". Are you
just venting your frustrations here or are you serious? If so, what program
are you considering switching to? The great thing about the Carerra is it
won't cause you to lose money......

Lionel,
I'll recode this one more time tonight before giving up on MS. It's just so
frustrating that something that should have taken a few days to a week at
most has already consumed 2 months. Sort of like waiting for my Carerra 2's
engine to get resealed. That's been in the shop for 2 months also. "Maybe
next week." Sort of like MS.
Regards,
Guy

if is any consolation this has happened to me in the past, when I cut and
pasted a formula and it didn't work, but retyping it did work. Of course my
application was much simpler than yours.
