No,  you download a simple window program. You click a button on the 
window labelled 'FTP' and the data downloads  through the internet at no 
charge. It downloads about 11000 stocks, plus futures and indexes on my DSL line 
in about 5 seconds. It will provide data in both ASCII and Metastock format. 
Splits and other adjustments are automatically made.
