Vitaly,
Thanks very much for your comments. With the exception of those
who belong to actual trading groups, most of us, I imagine, are left almost
entirely to our own resources as we sit in front of computer screens trying
to develop some kind of viable trading method. It's really good to
hear first hand from others about the process they've gone through.
Strangely, many experienced traders are reluctant to discuss these issues.
I was especially struck by your observation:
. . . . a gradual
realization that it's not really easy money. A funny twist, isn't it?
If I ever succeed at trading profitably on a consistent
basis, it will surely be some of the hardest "easy money" I've ever run
across.
Let me wrap up here. Sorry, it's got too long. I
feel even more humbled recalling that
when I was a novice and hounding the "best" trading system, revelations
like this one seemed
just as annoyance, at best :-).
On the contrary, Vitaly! I've read (repeatedly) that even a simple
approach like a moving average crossover can make fairly good money over
time. If the vast majority of us will eventually fail -- most sooner
rather than later -- then it stands to reason that the real hurdles lie
in areas other than technical analysis, elementary or advanced as the case
may be.
Best regards,
Philip
