List,

What option do you have set when you use the Next security function?
Open Tools menu
Click Options
Select Chart Options tab
In the Change Securities section, What Option is set?
If you have it set to Use Smart Chart, try it with the other option (Use
Chart as template)
With the Use Chart as template option set, when you click next security it
brings in the next securities data into the same template (Like a new
chart), instead of opening the next security's Smart Chart. When the option
is set to Use Smart Chart, You may be coming across a Smart Chart built by a
prior version of MetaStock. If one of these Smart Charts is opened directly
from the file menu, we will convert it to the new format, but when this same
Smart Chart is opened with the next security button, it may have time to
convert it. We are currently looking into the issue.
If the program doesn't crash with the Use Chart as template option set, it
may be a good idea to replace the existing Smart Charts. If you have already
saved your own Default template and you don't have any hand entered symbols,
text, etc., this will be a painless process. You can simply delete the
MSSmart folders on your hard drive. As you open the securities again in
MetaStock, the Smart Charts will be regenerated from your own Default
template.

There was an issue with Low Resources in 7.0, this was fixed in 7.01. The
slow Exploration problem should be fixed in 7.02, which will be released
soon. Contact sales for upgrade information.

Thank you,
Lynn

Al:

Are you monitoring Windows user resources while this is happening? I
believe
MS Pro 7.0 has a pretty bad resource leak and I have to be extremely careful
what applications I open during the day. You might be seeing a similar
problem with EOD.

Good luck.
