> > Hi,
> >
> > I am a newbie and invite your
comments on the idea that buying stocks in
> > certain price ranges
might give one a little extra edge. See Excell chart
> >
attached.
> >
> > Has anybody used this relationship to their
advantage?
> >
> > Happy trading,
> >
Herman.
> >
> <<<<
>
>
>

Absolutely right, I should have used a forward approach instead of backwards.

True, but I am looking for relative short term factors and might even
reduce the time span more in an effort to find composites that best lead
and respond to various market segments. I believe that the more recent the
data the more value it has for short term trading. I use FAs and long term
price history mostly to assess stock volatility (risk) and overall trend.

My approach might be naive but at this stage of the game simple indicators
and stats are easier to grasp intuitively than complex combinations of wild
formulas - I like to preserve an intuitive appreciation and feel for
whatever method I use.

>What are/would have been the results if markets weren't that very trending
/ volatile?

The future will tell, but doesn't this applies to all analysis?

period), then a

Just a very small, but well defined, factor in the overall formula. Give me
twenty more of those and I would expect to be doing pretty well :-)

>A job well done,

Thank you - for a beginner words of praise mean much :-)

Happy trading,
Herman.
