<G>. My pick this week is Harrahs Entertainment Corp
(HET). HET at 20.56 looks like it is completing a sideways move to the
bottom of its Short Term Up Trend Channel (STUTC). Looking at the
long-term chart, HET set an all time high of 37 ½ on 6/6/96 then went into a
Long Term Down Trend Channel (LTDTC) to a low of 11 1/16 on 10/8/98.
It broke out of the LTDTC on 4/14/99 and went on to set an annual high of 30
¾ on 11/15/99. From there it fell to a low of 17 1/8 on 4/4/20 before
rising to break out of that Short Term Down Trend Channel and establish its
new STUTC. I noticed that the 4/4/00 low was higher than the 10/8/98
low and am expecting the new high to be higher than the 11/15/99 high.
The long term StochRSI is positive and rising and the short term StochRSI
looks like it is close to negative peak territory. That formation
usually represents a good entry point. The fundamentals are great with
price/sales at 0.82, P/E at 12.4, ROE at 14%, debt/equity at 1.71, and
five-year average sales growth over 13% and five-year average EPS growth
just under 10%. I ll open a long position Monday with an initial
target just under the annual high at 30 and the initial stop just under the
STUTC at 19 3/4. To see the chart jump to <A

Yes ... the BDS program at
http://dechert.econ.uh.edu/software/bds.html
was developed by one of the guys at the Prediction Company and deals with
"potential pockets of predictability". Hope that you've got lots of time
this spring/summer <G>
also see BDS at
http://www2.gol.com/users/kanzler/index.htm#Ludwig Kanzler
you can run it in Matlab
LeBaron has a version in C+
Best regards
Walter
