Lets asume your list is named " Mattlist.sym " then in the Downloader's
Symbol Look-up window it should be listed under the Type: control.
1) Do you also get this Symbol Look-up window ?
2) If so, in it are other lists available in the Type: field ?
(click the small arrow down button and in the unfolding list, use the scroll bar at the right).
3) Do you also have the latest Symbol32.dta installed ?
(latest version is available each month on the Equis website)
4) Does the name of your list also holds only 8 digits for maximum ?
(name left of the extension dot, eg Mattlist.sym)
5) Does the sym list has the proper layout(is in the proper format) ?
Silver,SI,MATT's Exchange
Gold,GO,MATT's Exchange
Platinum,PL,MATT's Exchange
SP500,SP,MATT's Exchange
6) Make sure the first line (in above example) is the Silver,..........
7) Make sure the last line in your file is not a blanc line, eg remove any blanc line(s)
8) If all fails un-install and re-install, now to the factory default C:\Equis\Dlwin folder
(Like the Office programs, program could have problems with the space digit
position in the middle of 'Program Files')
(you could also do this installing for the Downloader alone, since program singly
is freely available at the Equis website)

Subject: Creating custom symbol lists....EOD version7.01

securities in the 'Look-up' feature.

c:\program files\equis\the downloader (which is where my downloader is located).

my list of symbols.
