Thanks for the warning. It never hurts to say it over and over again, indeed :-) .

A clarification: the resellers I meant sell mostly NEW equipment, but they don't
manufacture it buying instead wholesale from manufacturers. So my 19-inch
monitor was new. With 30 days money back guarantee from the reseller and 3 years
manufacturer's warranty it seemed to me not too much risky  (still some if to not
follow the precautions you mentioned) to buy.
