You do what I've never been able to do. I have never been able to intraday
trade. I'm miserable at picking buy or sell points and I fail terribly at
getting out with a profit. I'm too emotional and read too much into the
price movement. It took me a long time to realize that my psychological
make-up is not suited for this type of trading. I remember when I first
started trading; I would sit in the broker's office watching the paper
ticker and the mechanical tote board (darn I'm old) and generally lose
money. Even if I was right, I managed to lose money. :)
That's why all of our trades are usually at the open. The second reason is
that you can always (usually always) get in and out on the open, especially
when you trade our little quantities. Our research shows that you can trade
up to 1,000 S&P contracts on the open without materially affecting the
market.

I have to think tomorrow is going to fall off in the afternoon. Of course,
I thought it would do that today as the afternoon buyers dried up deciding
to wait on tomorrow's numbers. Got stopped out of QQQ and QCOM shorts that
I put on around 1:30. Tex Tanzi pointed out the unless the number tomorrow
is way high, it's going to be good news. With all the profits that people
have this week, I can't believe they are going to carry everything into the
weekend. For the last 2 weeks, the second half of the day has been
miserable. But Tuesday it was a straight-line rally and Thursday there was
a very string rebound over the last 90 minutes. Wednesday faded. I'm
thinking huge rally at the open, fade for the rest of the day.
Anyone realize the MSFT now has a P/E of 38?
