When you're feeling better and at the risk of telling you about
something that you already are aware of, check out the section of the
Motley Fool Web site ( http://www.fool.com/ ) known as the Workshop
http://www.fool.com/Workshop/Workshop.htm ). Many of the portfolios
discussed there start with the stocks on the ValueLine Timeliness = 1
list and filter more with additional screens. Most of the portfolios
are extensively backtested and show impressive results.
Twelve portfolios are listed every week in the Current Rankings
http://www.fool.com/Workshop/WorkshopRankings.htm ) but over 70 are
discussed on the Mechanical Investing message board which is part of the
Investor's Roundtable section. See messages posted by "JackCade" every
Friday with the subject line "Screen Rankings (date)."
For an idea of the returns look for messages with subject lines
containing keywords "YTD" (Year to Date) and "TTM" (Trailing Twelve
Months).
> As per our current methodology, and until we come up with a better
technique for the short side, we have only sold the indices (QQQ, DIA
and SPY) and our futures.
You might be interested in SHORT_A, SHORT_B, SHORT_C and SHORT_K on the
message boards.
> With everyone else sick around here, I got none of the sympathy I
deserved.
At least you'll get sympathy from some of us for what THAT'S worth.
