Ben,

Have you erased your smart charts in all your Metastock directories as was
mentioned in a workaround posted some time ago on this list? I have found
"Smart Charts" to be problematic ever since the first DOS release so this
is the first place to look for improved stability.

Supposedly, this can cause the frequent crashes you mentioned.

Also, you may want to execute SFC at the command line and see
if you have any corrupt Windows 98 system files. You can use
SFC to replace any corrupted files found with this utility and
your windows 98 install CD. I do not own MS 7.0 as I have been
waiting for a more robust (read stable) version so I can not
offer any detailed suggestions on what else to try to get a
more stable installation. Good luck!

Thanks,

Ron

I strongly agree!

I cannot understand why Equis can't distribute patches to how Captools Co.
(http://www.captools.com) does. I got so sick of MetaStock crashing and
hanging that I decided to switch back to Windows 98 (where I have resource
problems even though I have a ton of Ram). Version 7.01 still has many of
the same problems when running under Windows 98.

I spend more time restarting Metastock then I do looking at stocks!

I guess Equis must be saying "If you don't like it switch to another
software vendor." I am so sick of it that I am ready to switch!

Does anyone have any suggestion of something similar to MetaStock V7.01.

Thanks,

Ben
