Ton,
America is a capatalist society. Things like this happen all the time. Not
long ago I posted the Starc Bands. Shortly after that I found them being
offered as a monitoring tool on a vendors website. I could have ranted about
that but was happy that someone found them useful. You claim that all of the
DeBry toolkit can be found in the metastock library. You must remember that
many on this site have not been here long enough to have an established
library. I'm not aware of a centralized library or archive. If there is
would you please share that with us. Another way to overcome a vendor's
exploitation is to offer a free toolkit with the same information.
Therefore, I am challenging you to do just that. Mind you it MUST be
complete, so I have included the DeBry list below. Thanks,

J.

Debry Toolkit

1. Get Text File - Retrieves data out of a comma-separated text file,
directly into MetaStock. We use this to view the number of message board
posts
on our stocks, but you could use it to grab any data you like, without
having to go through any cumbersome importing and exporting using The
DownLoader.

2. Moving Average Crossover functions - 3 functions to calculate the closing
price necessary to make either the MACD, a moving average, or a
moving average of a moving average cause a crossover.

3. Date Functions - Functions that return the current day, month, and year.

4. DataIsUpToToday - Checks if the last day of data is equal to today. Used
to filter securities in the explorer.

5. Median Volume - Calculates the median volume over the specified time
periods. That is, half of the volume occurred above the median, and half
occurred below.

6. Line - Calculates a line, based on the starting date and percent increase
given.

7. LLVSinceHHV - Returns the lowest low value since the security hit a new
high.

8. Overhead Resistance Indicator - Our own indicator that measures the % of
trading in the past n-periods that occurred above the current price.

9. Get Ticker Length - Returns the length of the security's ticker symbol.

10. Swing Percent - A swing percent system.

11. Date functions - 5 date-related functions, including Year-to-date
performance (%), and Quarter-to-date performance ($ and %). Also has
functions
to "mark" the last day of the month, quarter, and year.

12. 4% Rule - 3 functions for the 4% rule.

13. Day of Week - Returns the average performance for the specified day of
the week.

DLL FUNCTIONS
These will show up in MetaStock at the Paste Functions dialog.

14. GetTextFile - Retrieves data out of a comma-separated text file. The
first parameter is the column heading. The second parameter is the file
name
(if this is blank, it uses the data folder + symbol + ".CSV").

15. TwoMAsOfPriceCrossoverPrice - Calculates the closing price necessary to
make two exponential moving averages cross. The indicator value
today is what tomorrow's price must be to cause a crossover tomorrow. The
user specifies the length of the moving averages.

16. MAOfMACrossoverPrice - Calculates the closing price necessary to make a
moving average of a moving average cross a moving average. The
indicator value today is what tomorrow's price must be to cause a crossover
tomorrow. The user specifies the length of the moving averages.

17. MACDCrossoverPrice - Calculates the closing price necessary to make a
9-period trigger line and a traditional 15%/7.5% MACD cross. The
indicator value today is what tomorrow's price must be to cause a crossover
tomorrow.

18. GetCurrentDayOfMonth, GetCurrentMonth, and GetCurrentYear - Returns the
current day of the month, the current month, and the current
year. Most useful to filter out securities from explorations that are not
up to date.

19. DataIsUpToToday - Checks if the last day of data is equal to today.
Used to filter securities in the explorer.

20. Median Volume - Calculates the median volume over the specified time
periods. That is, half of the volume occurred above the median, and half
occurred below.

21. Line - Calculates a line, based on the starting date and percent
increase given. Date must be given in YYMMDD format. The increase that you
specify is for each bar (i.e., trading day).

22. LLVSinceHHV - Returns the lowest low value since the security hit a new
high. The user specifies the time periods in the HHV function.

23. Overhead Resistance Indicator - Our own indicator that measures the % of
trading in the past n-periods that occurred above the current price.

24. GetTickerLength - Returns the length of the security's ticker symbol.
Useful to separate NASDAQ (four character) from NYSE and AMEX (3
and fewer character) stocks.

CUSTOM FORMULAS
These will show up in MetaStock starting with "DeBry.com ET"

25. Swing Percent - A swing percent system.

26. Date functions - Date-related functions, including Year-to-date
performance ($ and %), Quarter-to-date performance ($ and %), Month-to-date
performance($ and %). Also has functions to "mark" the last day of the
month, quarter, and year.

27. 4% Rule - Gives 4% rule buy and sell signals.

28. Day of Week - Returns the average performance for the specified day of
the week. Running this on the Dow back to 1900 shows that, on average,
Monday has been the worst day of the week, and Friday the best.

Subject: Re: FYI --- DeBry EOD Toolkit

All have been formulised and posted here before.
Check your mail-library.
Will therefore not be suprised if the formulas originated from here as well.

(The tools available on their site do not contain anything one cannot
already do in the program
him/herselve and a toolkit should contain stuff that's beyond this List's
capabilities).

Didn't know it's that easy to make a <toolkit>(ehh rephrase that to
<toybox>) and $money.

Wonder how much my/any Lister's library is worth then...................

Ton Maas
