reference to those using MetaCareBase program for generating indices with volume 
(both common and special) along with Metastock. This notes an error I had made 
in getting to the point of having two indices OEX and Large Drugs stocks. This 
program is fast and is initiated each day with a BAT file. Note each index 
requires one to generate a definition file denoting each stock and the weighting

had three stocks BMY, JNJ &amp; MRK in each of two sub folders below my base 
folder for data. I deleted these three stocks with the downloader of the 
Metastock program in one of the two sub folders and then ran my INDEX.BAT and 
the error message disappeared. If I see an&nbsp;error appear again I shall copy 
and paste so you or anyone else may see exactly what it says. This particular 
error may not occur again as I have learned by making this mistake not to 
duplicate stocks in the subfolders beneath the base folder for data.

able to answer, please tell me the exact error message. The only "not unique" 
message is "Security folders: Security '%s', Period '%c' not unique" and this is 
a very ugly message and means that a security exists more than once in your 
database in different folders. Maybe that's what you meant, and deleting the 
duplicates (for example with the DL) will get rid of the message, but might 
cause data loss, of course. You should better "merge" the two (if you have a 
tool that does this) - but if they're unimportant, who 
cares.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
