Tony,
I would suggest using the free tool called "MetaCareBase" (mcb)
which you can find under www.invest-tools.com Calling the
tool with parameter /kd=21 will delete all securities
which haven't been updated since 21 periods. You can also
maintain a "kill database", which contains a list of securities
to delete, and kill them all by applying switch /ka. And if
you happen to want to archive these securities, i.e. move them
away to an archive, in case you might want to use them again,
you would use /ad=21 or /aa
If you want to find out what else mcb can do for you, please
feel free to download the manual from my web-site:
www.agent-provocateur.de/mcbasedoc.zip (107 KB) Btw: If you
want to print the manual, beware that it's formatted to
the German paper-size A4, which maybe differs from yours.
In the manual, you'll notice some reference to a fundamental
database which can be used for several useful operations.
A sample is downloadable from www.agent-provocateur.de/mc_funda.db (2 KB)
My whole mcb-directory can be downloaded from
www.agent-provocateur.de/mcb15.zip (1852 KB)
Unzipping this file to a place you want is all you need for
a fully functional installation.
If you have any questions, just e-mail me privately.
Best regards,
Andreas
P.S. No flames please. This *has* been a Metastock-relevant question;
it's no commercial, because the tool is free; and I don't have any
relationship with its creators, other than I just use their tool.
