List,

MetaStock Professional version 7.01 is a maintenance release for MetaStock
Professional version 7.0.

Here is a list of new features available in version 7.0:

For upgrade information, please call our sales department at 800-882-3040 or

MetaStock Changes:

DataOnDemandTM technology - Online data retrieval:
DataOnDemandTM means no more local data storage and the tedious data
maintenance that went with it. Now all of that data is available when you
want it. Simply type the symbol of any chart you want to see, and it
automatically appears. It's as easy as pulling up a chart on the Web. And
the beauty is that there's no data to maintain on your hard drive. Instead,
it's cached just like a Web page in your browser. So if you decide to look
at it again, it appears even faster the second time.
With MetaStock 7.0, you may never have to store local data on your hard
drive again. It's fully Web-enabled to access online data from Reuters
DataLink. And the interface is patterned after Microsoft Office 2000 to make
it fast, easy, and intuitive to find exactly the security you're looking
for.
DataOnDemandTM is supported by the Reuters DataLink data service, the best
investment data service in the world. Financial professionals around the
globe rely on Reuters data to manage billions of dollars each day. They know
that Reuters is committed to providing clean, high-quality data for accurate
decision making. Reuters DataLink gives individual investors access to an
exceptional database of vital investing information. With Reuters DataLink
supplying information to your MetaStock 7.0, you can be sure that you're
making good decisions based on accurate data. And now, when you purchase
MetaStock 7.0, you'll receive a free month of Reuters DataLink.

File|Open enhancements:
The Open dialog has been changed to incorporate the following new
functionality with an easily accessed toolbar with buttons as you would find
in Office 2000:
- History - maintains a list of the recently opened securities, layouts, and
charts.
- Local Data - accesses the last opened local data folder.
- Favorites - allows a user to group securities according to their
preferences.
- Reuters DataLink-Lets you instantly access charts from this upper-echelon
data service. This also displays the data service for other MetaStock
compatible services.

Added the PNG graphic format to Save As HTML:

Added the ability to group securities into Favorites Lists:
Creating your own custom lists of charts and securities has never been
easier. MetaStock now offers an all-new file management structure that
allows you to make new lists and add different charts to those lists at any
time. If you're familiar with using Favorites or Bookmarks in your Web
browser, then you know how to use MetaStock's Favorites. It's a great way to
create any kind of list -- "Top Movers of the Week," or "Currencies," or
even "Hot Tips From My Brother-in-law."
You can add charts to one of your Favorites lists from any list of charts in
MetaStock or directly from the chart itself. Just a couple of mouse clicks
and it's done. No matter where your data is stored - either on your hard
drive or online - you can mix and match your Favorites any way you want.
That's because your Favorites are just shortcut links. So you'll never harm
anything by moving or deleting your Favorites. It's the perfect way to keep
your charts organized exactly the way you want them.

Added the ability to Insert a Security through the Insert menu:
Insert a Security into an open price plot of a different security
The best way to visually compare the price movement of different securities
is to look at them in the same chart. MetaStock lets you add the price plot
of any security in your database to the chart you're looking at. And it
automatically aligns the dates so you can instantly identify how the two
charts are moving during the same time period.

Symbol Lookup changes:
* Added new fields for trading times, display units, exchange, type, &
group.
* Added Tools | Update Symbol Database to automatically updates the Symbol
Database file via the Internet.

Added a "Change all Charts in Layout" option to Change Security:
Change the security in a layout (an organized number of charts laid out to
the users preference) by pressing the previous/next button on the individual
chart toolbar. This keeps the exact same multiple window setup on your
screen, but with new securities in the windows.

Allow securities with different intervals to be combined in one chart:
Combine a daily plot and a weekly plot in the same chart? Now it is possible
with MetaStock 7.0.

New Custom Toolbar allows you to create links to your layouts, templates,
favorite web pages, or programs:
By adding your most frequently used templates and layouts to the toolbar,
you'll have single-click access to the analysis techniques you use most
often. That's not all, though. You can also add any other program or
document on your computer that will help streamline your analysis, such as:
*A spreadsheet program to create advanced indicators
	*Your weekly client newsletter
*Trading log spreadsheets to document your every move
	*Your web browser
*Anything else you use together with MetaStock

New customizable Fibonacci Retracements lines:
Customize the values displayed next to the Fibonacci lines to fit your
trading needs.

New option in Fibonacci Retracements Properties to display each retracement
line's percent amount next to the line:
Now there is no more Fibonacci retracement confusion. That's because all
percentage values are displayed next to each line. No more guessing or
calculating.

Added Fundamentals data web links to the charts' Research shortcut menu:
With an simple right click of your mouse you can access a world of powerful
fundamental data for the security whose chart you have displayed. This data
comes from Multex and Market Guide, two of the best providers of fundamental
data. Just look at what you can access:
Broker Recommendations- See a snapshot of how Wall Street views the
company. View exactly how brokers are voting on buy, sell, and hold.
You'll even see earnings estimates.

reports from top names in the research industry: Merrill Lynch, Bear
Stearns, Soloman Smith Barney, and many others.

Added support for Reuters DataLink Messaging:

Added the ability to save Exploration results to a lists:
Sift thousands of charts down to a short list, and then save that list to
perform any number of different searches and filters without starting from
square one each time. For large, complicated searches, you can easily save
hours of work by doing it just once and then building on those results. You
can even explore a list over and over to learn different things about those
securities.

You can now run explorations on the results from last exploration:
You can now specify any number of explorations to search, put them in the
right order, and then let The Explorer do its thing. The results that you
get from that exploration can then be used to run your next exploration.
This new feature gives you filtering power like you've never had before!

You can now run multiple Explorations in one of three modes:
*You can use the results from the last exploration- This acts as a sifter to
gradually narrow down your list of candidates.
*You can use a single security list for all your explorations
*You can use a separate security list for each exploration

Added Data Management options from inside reports:
You now have the ability to edit data, delete the security, and copy the
security within The Explorer.

Added the ability to specify separate color and style for each plot in multi
plot indicators:
Avoid any confusion with the ability to assign different colors for your
indicators when performing multi-plot indicators.

Added MSX DLL support:
Import powerful formulas.
MetaStock is the ideal environment for implementing the most powerful and
sophisticated trading systems and indicators. You can now take an advanced
system or indicator developed outside of MetaStock and link it with your
work inside of MetaStock.
This DLL capability extends and magnifies MetaStock's own formula tools with
unlimited potential. It's ideal for traders who want to create advanced
trading tools with powerful programming languages, and then see the results
of their work in MetaStock. In addition, trading experts will be able to
implement their ideas for anyone to use and plug right into MetaStock.

Equis advised me in an off list e-mail that MS 7.01 EOD is NOT restricted to

Reuters and that it will read data supplied by other vendors.

Unfortunately, I no longer have a copy of the e-mail.

Equis, if you are listening, why not clarify this for your potential
customers? If left with the impression use of Reuters is a requisite, they
may migrate to another program. Don't shoot yourself in the foot.
