It's looking more and more obvious this will be the year AMD
trounces Intel. News of AMD's price structure for their new
Socket A products is filtering out. These price cuts will occur
April 24 and June 12.

Socket A "Spitfire 550 MHz will cost $79, a 600 MHz $99, a 650
MHz $140, and a 700 MHz $175". A 700 Mhz Athlon for $175, WHEW.
Socket A mobo's will also be less expensive than their Slot A
counterparts.

Slot A Athlon prices will also drop: "The 1 GHz will drop to
$1071, the 950 MHz will cost $722, the 900 MHz will cost $589,
the 850 MHz will cost $429, the 800 MHz will cost $323, the 750
MHz will cost $242, the 700 MHz will cost $187, the 650 MHz will
cost $163, and the 600 MHz Athlon will also cost $163 as it is
shuffled out of the equation".

This is why I intend to buy an Athlon based system.

Daniel.
