The difference between using IRL with QP and just QP is that, with just QP, you
get 200 IRL preset indexes which are only updated each Saturday. If you have
IRL, you can update the indexes everyday after your QP download. In addition,
you can create custom indexes based on what stocks are included and you can
choose between capitalization, price, etc...
Based on what I've been told and various web sites dedicated to IRL, this is a
pretty good package if you want to rely on EOD data. The problem is, with the
incredible moves stocks make over a few hours and the huge amounts of money a
trader can make, EOD is just too slow.
It would be nice if Equis wrote an application similar to Omega's RadarScreen
(and it DIDN'T cost $2500). IRL could then write a plug-in for it.
