Look at your MetaStock data files and see if some are extremely large
compared to others with the same time frame. If so, you have a data
corruption problem. You must delete all the MetaStock data files in this
folder and recreate them.
See what other tasks you are running simultaneously. Use CTRL-ALT-DEL to see
the apps. Use MicroSoft System Information also. I use Win98 and I forgot
if Win95 SI displays your Kernel Drivers under "Software Environment". If
you can, see what Kernel Drivers you have loaded.
This is only if you are an advanced user. In your Registry Editor, look
under the following keys to see what you're loading during startup:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and especially...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
through
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce
Of course, don't forget your Startup folder in your Start menu. Because
Windows is a shared environment, solving problems can become very complex.
Good Luck,
Daniel.
To all Users: Use the above advice at your own risk. I am not responsible
if you damage your Windows installation.
