List,
I'm a little nervous posting this and have marked it as OT for Off Topic for
anyone to filter.
Anyway, the little weekly e-mail to the family doesn't say much as my
brother is experimenting with shorting some stocks, using Value Line to
select which ones to short. I expect it's the opposite of his rules for
buying stocks when our system is long.
<< Well, the system is still bearish. I am tying something and going short
a
few different stocks. I paper traded last week and did pretty well, so I
will try this and see how it works. I will let you all know. If we are
right, then this should be a good trade. I am using Value Line to pick some
of the shorts, but who knows.>>
Now we're not trying to be cryptic here, but he's trying something new and
doesn't want to lead anybody in the family astray, in case they try to
follow our buys and sells. One of our nephews does buy puts when we go
short to protect his stock positions, and we're even nervous about him doing
that since we trade the general market not individual stocks.
Again, these are real trades and I don't mention the size or his positions
on purpose. My brother's goal for 2000 is to try to make 7 figures on
trading stocks. He's a little behind schedule! :)
My goal is that we make 6 figures trading S&P futures. We'll see how we do
at that. We're pretty much on schedule here, even after the unfortunate run
up last week.
I have bought a web site and will move our trading stuff there shortly, just
as soon as I figure out FrontPage 2000 and how to post Excel spreadsheets.
Again, I hope I'll be able to do it this week, but I've started work as the
CTO of a new .COM startup here in So. CA and have been running short on
time, trying to play Mr. Mom for my son and work on the new startup..
To refresh every ones memory, we're short.
Regards,
Guy
