Metastock programs come with the extensive Reuters Data cdrom for FREE
incl. stocks+indexes back to 1980. The DowINDU, however goes back to 1900
and can be found in the by MS6.x program CdRom installed C:\EQUIS\DATA\SAMPLES
folder.
There are also a few sites, of which the Yahoo, MOBY and Dreyfus are the best
for multi indexes/indices' History (eg SP500 goes back to 1950).
Nasdaq can be found on the NSD BETA site and goes back there to 1980.

Moby Data Download
ALLTICK.ZIP file contains the entire Moby Data historical library tickers
in one single file.
ALLDATA.ZIP file contains the entire Moby Data historical library data
in one single file.
The file is approximately 4.0mb in size and - depending on your modem speed -
should take no longer than 45 minutes to download. The library files are
daily updated, and kept current. File is filled with true comma separated
ASC-files(ASCI) with as header T-D-O-H-L-C.
