Steve,
There are a lot of variations of "cold call recommendations to buy now", but
the basic idea is the same: Someone gets your name and phone number (or
e-mail address!!) and tries to convince that you have a great opportunity to
make lots of money by buying something if you act now.
And Steve, with sincere and honest respect, please see the movie if this was
a serious question. No disrespect to you is intended. Even the most
hardened trader can be suckered by variations of this. In fact, a hardened
trader is often one of the easiest people to get burned if the cold caller
knows the callee is a hardened trader. Many traders refer to this as
"paying your dues". I'm just trying to lower the cost of your dues.
