Hi Lionel
This sounds familiar ...
"... I'm not programmer and I am Klutzy around a computer. .."
Personally, I have to add "Math disabled" <G>
No software that I know of ... unless you include NeuroShell Trader.
However, I've never used it so I can't really comment on it. I don't know if
it includes ARIMA or (G)ARCH technology.
Most of the statistical and "junior quant" stuff is coming through in
low-tech versions for XL. Traders just keep reading and try to adapt the
ideas to a concrete level. You know ... like using your fingers to add and
subtract on your knee <G>
Here's a copy of part of an email that I received:
"... I put the Sp/H0 and Tb/H0 futures into the Autocorrel workbook. I
noticed
that there was about an 11 day lag of the SnP to the Tbill's. The
correlation is not as high as you might want to see. Volatility
analysis would help time the trade entry and/or exit. ..."
Using this type of XL module, plus other tools to confirm or reject the
results, you have something that the quantitative analysis guys are using,
only on a scale suitable for an individual trader. Some of these workbooks
are becoming quite usable.
"Cash cow" software companies mostly produce stuff that is "too little, too
late". So I wouldn't hold your breath.
Best regards
Walter

| Walter:
| I mostly agree with your remarks about the indicators being old
technology.
| Is there any software available that uses current technology and
indicators?
