For all who are having problems updating your Metastock files from
Quotes Plus, we finally determined what the problem is. It results from
the problems we had at the beginning of the year, your metastock files
are way too large, probably over 100k for each .dat file, and the file
size is giving the updater problems now.
The only way to correct it is to delete your existing Metastock files,
and start over again.The new files will update correctly.
Files that have been created since you installed the Jan 10th update
should be fine, files created earlier may not be good.
This will fix the metastock files and free up a lot of space at the same
time.
No software or cd is required.

While the work around I reported did the job on new stocks added, I saw
the
same problem you reported on a few of the old stocks for 2/2/00 only.
The
date reported was 5/30/66 and the data was not the correct data for
2/2/00.
Strange that some stocks in the same directory had correct data and
other
stocks did not. Sounds like the query to their data base is errant.
