Below is the reply mail I had send earlier, but that did not made it to the List.
Attached is the referenced list of current VBA-licenced partners, that was
included in the mail.
========================
Good request.
(But you weren't the first : Mike Arnoldi was the first 'honourable' in line of several others,
already signaling to be missing out on this feature as early as in the 1st 'wrong' 6.5 patches
period early last year 1999).
I concur your request+description, tho (+ have therefore cc-ed this mail to Equis suggestions).
I only have a couple of VIP changes/additions:
-perhaps, like the other sub-programs(DL,SysTest,Explorer,ExpertAdv) the Alerts program
can also become a single like seperate sub program too
-Alerts should then also work WITHOUT having them attched to a chart OR at least work
independent from Charts/SmartCharts (Saves on MEM usage when only charting : the
basic problem with the ExpertAdv program) OR have them attached to a LIST only
-have an A4 Letter format tabloid to "check, pick&apply" all sorts of variaty of controls from,
even to be able to have the optionaly user definable controls to "check, pick&apply" from
-naturaly Alerts to be buttonized available on the WorkMenu's ButtonBar
-and Alerts, the program, to be able to be singly run from the Windows Task Scheduler(eg
see above, therefore also the need to be made available as a seperate program)
TOO, had we've now had the long ago announced+promissed VBA features already build-in, then
it wouldn't be that difficult at all to build one(Alerts program) in ourselves. But VBA is Microsoft, and
that's nowadays a dirty word it seems and also not a worthwile program to add, now is it Equis ?
It sure cannot have anything to do with licensing the program, or the fees involved, since Nirvana's
OmniTrader program among many other high quality programs(see the 300+ list att.) like AutoCAD,
CorelDRAW 9, Bridge's Active 1.0, Flow's Workspace 5.0 etc. etc., and one by one also from good
quality softwaremakers/designers, Boeing, RockWell,SIEBEL,SAMSUNG etc., were very easy in
incorperating VBA into their programs AND without any large additional costs to users. This also all
to the full benefit of users, eg most of those co's do put their users on their first prio place since
profitability, productivity and efficiency are their keywords.
