By recommending Telescan are you saying that they have solved their problem
when downloading after a 3 day weekend? I switched from Telescan after
several years of suffering thru the very slow downloads after a 3 day
weekend or other holiday. The download speed would drop to about 5% of the
normal rate.

Thank you for letting us know about the problem you are experiencing using
TC2000 (or other vendors) with MetaStock®. It is likely that TC2000's
Smart Export to MetaStock was created using their own solution to write to
your MetaStock data files, possibly by reverse engineering the file format
or writing to an older version of the MetaStock format. As you have
discovered, this solution creates data that does not work with MetaStock
beyond 12/31/1999.

Fortunately, you have several options that will allow you to continue using
MetaStock:

1. Many data vendors allow you to export their data to an ASCII, Excel, or
Lotus file. The DownLoaderT software, which comes with MetaStock, allows
you to convert these exported files to a 100% compatible MetaStock file
format. See The DownLoader User's Manual or go to
<http://www.equis.com/customer/support/faqs/msg00017.html> for detailed
instructions on converting these files to the proper MetaStock format. If
you have questions about which ASCII formats The DownLoader can convert,
see
The DownLoader's Users Manual or go to
<http://www.equis.com/customer/support/faqs/msg00007.html> for detailed
instructions on MetaStock-compatible ASCII formats.

2. If you are a TC2000 user, you can go to
<http://www.equis.com/customer/support/faqs/dlg00030.html> to receive
step-by-step instructions on converting TC2000 data to the 100% compatible
MetaStock file format. Instructions are also available in The DownLoader
User's Manual.

3. The DownLoader, available from Equis International, directly supports
three data vendors that are 100% compatible with MetaStock, including
Reuters DataLink (<http://reutersdatalink.com>), Dial/Data
(<http://ddata.com>), and Telescan (<http://www.telescan.com>). Each of
these services provide quality, competitively-priced data. If your current
version of The DownLoader does not support all these services, please call
1-800-882-3040 or 1-801-265-8886.

If you have any other questions regarding this issue, please don't hesitate
to email us at support@xxxxxxxxx <mailto:support@xxxxxxxxx> or call us at
1-801-265-9998. We will do everything in our power to ensure you remain a
loyal MetaStock user.

Thank you.
