Subject: Heads up! Traders Press
This may be somewhat "off-topic" in the strictest sense of the word, but I
thought it might be of interest nevertheless:
I placed an order with Traders Press over the weekend using the company's web
site. As payment, I sent in my VISA number and expiration date. Since there
seemed to be a problem with the automated order response system, I followed up
by telephone today and learned that Pinson, Inc. the outfit that handles the
on-line end of the business had not forwarded my VISA number to Trader's Press.
A rep at Trader's Press informed me that "this sometimes happens." Pinson, she
said, sometimes doesn't receive the credit card numbers that are sent in through
the website and therefore cannot send them along to Trader's Press.
I am left with the disquieting impression that I have blasted my VISA number and
expiration date into cyberspace, and the information hasn't reached its mark.

P.S. An email to Pinson that I haven't received an order confirmation is still
unanswered as I write.
