To test an indicator based system or event based system use your Metastock
System Tester

Set up your code in System Tester
Run a System Test on a Security
go to "Reports"
go to "Trades" tab
select/highlight all the trades
right click  --> "Save to File"

Find the file with the Excel
Click on the file to open it in Excel (using the "Text Import Wizard")
(the file is saved by Metastock as a "tab delimited" .txt file)
just keep clicking "next"
the name of the test is already on the tab of your worksheet (down at the
bottom)

Open Downloader
select/highlight the data for the security
copy & paste into a new sheet in Excel

That's it ... you're in business
One sheet has the trades, i.e., results of indicator trigger or event
happening
The other sheet has the data
