The McClellan Oscillator is a 19 EMA - 39 EMA.  It is similar to the MACD except that MACD uses 12 EMA and 26 EMA.   The quickest way to get info on these indicators is at the Equis site: http://www.equis.com/free/taaz/ The easiest way to use the McClellan Oscillator and McClellan Summation Index is to use a composite of advancers minus decliners.  I have a MetaStock Layout with the NYSE and Nasdaq McClellan Oscillator/Summation index charts.  I don't really look at NYSE stocks anymore though.  In addition to the regular McClellan indicators, there are also ratio-based indicators which are more reliable because they aren't affected by added securities on the exchanges over the years.  I also have formulas and charts for those.
