    spell a long, long trouble in contrast to just temporary
    unpleasantness<BR>of restoring data on HD damaged by a virus, from your

    HD crashes with total loss of all data) a lesson on "What these
    freaking<BR>backups are for?"<BR><BR>As I understand, for an outsider to

    these needs (an ability to transmit<BR>covertly, etc.). Not just something
    standard, available on each computer like Hyperterminal in<BR>Win95. Also,
    it cannot get there without your, though involuntary, participation - you
    may put it in<BR>there when opening e-mail, downloading stuff from a Web
    site, and so forth. Only then, I believe,<BR>you are ripe for being picked
    up by an intruder. If you are "clean", the intruder may sniff out
    all<BR>your ports, upper and lower, but no chances to succeed. Am I wrong on
    this? Perhaps, most of these<BR>"attacks" are really innocent (like
    searching for a partner to play a game), and we shouldn't get<BR>obsessed
    with it? Maybe, it's a way the Web lives that we've just discovered to our
    confusion?<BR><BR>Also, mind that even an intruder with an access cannot
    visit your PC casually, from time to time.<BR>Each time you get connected to
    the Web, you get a new Internet address, so next time you are lost<BR>for
    the intruder. It's true as well for "always on" Internet connections like
    cable modems: as soon<BR>as you turn off/on your PC (not sure if closing a

Anyone know if Metastock v7 is going to include built-in Nasdaq Level 2
support?&nbsp; I assume they will since WOW Daytrader Pro does also.&nbsp;
L2, Time &amp; Sales, and email/pager alerts are just about the only major
things I can think of which are missing from Pro v6.52.&nbsp; Other small
features would include multiple colors for multiple plots on a custom indicator.

You probably can't play a certain 'type' of media.&nbsp; It either has

Someone mentioned MS C++ 6 for programming.&nbsp; Just for your info, the
listed EBAY page was for the Academic version.
<p>For most MetaStock users, I believe the MS Excel/MetaStock combo is
plenty.&nbsp; Most users, myself included, don't know how to program in
Visual C++.&nbsp; It would also be time consuming.&nbsp; However, if anyone
is interested in learning/programming C++, I understand Borland Builder
Pro v4 is very powerful.&nbsp; It is supposed to be much quicker to create
programs using Builder 4 than MS C++.&nbsp; This EBAY item is an example:
<br>http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=150290652
<p>It is Borland Builder Pro v4, Academic version.&nbsp; Technically, the
seller isn't supposed to sell it to you or you aren't supposed to register
it if you aren't a student.&nbsp; I'm not sure which.&nbsp; If you buy
the full retail version, it's $400 I think.
<p>Unless you want to create an indicator involving all stocks, such as
percentage of all stocks above 30 MA, I don't think it's worth the effort.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Don't forget not only would you have to learn visual C++, but you'd also
have to figure out how to access your database.&nbsp; It's too bad MetaStock
doesn't have the above indicator capability.

C++<BR><BR></FONT></DIV>Someone mentioned MS C++ 6 for programming.&nbsp; Just
for your info, the listed EBAY page was for the Academic version.
<P>For most MetaStock users, I believe the MS Excel/MetaStock combo is
plenty.&nbsp; Most users, myself included, don't know how to program in Visual
C++.&nbsp; It would also be time consuming.&nbsp; However, if anyone is
interested in learning/programming C++, I understand Borland Builder Pro v4 is
very powerful.&nbsp; It is supposed to be much quicker to create programs using
Builder 4 than MS C++.&nbsp; This EBAY item is an example: <BR><A
href="http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=150290652";>http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=150290652</A>

<P>It is Borland Builder Pro v4, Academic version.&nbsp; Technically, the seller
isn't supposed to sell it to you or you aren't supposed to register it if you
aren't a student.&nbsp; I'm not sure which.&nbsp; If you buy the full retail
version, it's $400 I think.
<P>Unless you want to create an indicator involving all stocks, such as
percentage of all stocks above 30 MA, I don't think it's worth the
effort.&nbsp;&nbsp; Don't forget not only would you have to learn visual C++,
but you'd also have to figure out how to access your database.&nbsp; It's too
bad MetaStock doesn't have the above indicator capability.

All,
     We made it back late last night. Nothing much happened in the market
when I was gone except that I did switch from POTSX to POTCX on 8/13/99 when
the NDX broke out of its Short Term Down Trend Channel. However, today the
DJIA broke out to a new all time high. That's a classic trader Vic type buy
continuation signal for the large cap stocks. It may be a false break out
or it may be the start of a new up trend with the large caps leading the way
once again. I'm going to hedge by opening a new position in DELL tomorrow.
