The air hitting the chrome fan guard raises the noise level slightly.
I am looking for a simple 4" plastic hood to install on top. Since
I have my computer at my desk's side, it doesn't bother me. Something
you might find interesting, my computer runs very cool now, but my room
actually gets warmer because all the warm air being blown out. So
in the summer, I have to run a fan in the window, but late at night or
in the winter I won't need the heater hopefully. <img SRC="cid:part1.379E4863.405741F5@xxxxxxxxxx"; height=16 width=16 align=ABSBOTTOM>

Custom Cooling and Filtration System installed, I can now install the
Matrox G200 multi-monitor
card when it comes out. I expect a multi-monitor card to raise the
heat level inside the system because it will have 4 G200 graphics processors.
The new 7200 RPM HDD's will also raise the heat level. In general,
all the new hardware coming out will be faster and generate more heat.
It's interesting how video cards are progressing, in terms of cooling,
the same way CPU's did. First we had cards with no cooling, then
heatsinks (as my G200), now the newest TNT2 Ultra and Voodoo 3500 3DFX
cards actually have fans on them. ATX cases just aren't designed
very well. Now, I don't have to worry about my tape, CD-ROM, or floppy
drives getting hot.
