multiple onscreen charts? I have
checked through help & the manual to no avail. 'Next
Security' is not what I want as it loads the next
security from disk and not

Yes, there is a way. Get MetaStock 4.5 and use an
Autorun Macro with the securities in which you are
interested. You can apply templates or do anything
with it.
Very convenient. I use it all the time; practically
never use Windwows version of MetaStock, which cannot
run macros.
