Hi "new excel user"

Thanks for your email. Since you are experienced in writing Metastock
indicators your biggest job will be to just find your way around the excel
workbook or "spreadsheets".

Don't be "put off" by all the tool bars and buttons. All of those are
completely "customizable" ... you can even make your own buttons for any
"thing" or "action"!!

Since you are experienced in Metastock, you might a well just jump right
into the "deep end of the pool".

Here is a good workbook that can be used as a template for trade analysis.

It assumes:

a) that you already have a link to get your data from MS to Excel or that
you download directly from the web

b) that you have your indicators workbooks or trading system workbooks in
place and that you have a separate column for trades. "0" for out of market,
"1" for long and "-1" for short.

All of the code is written in formulas within the cells so there are no
macros or Visual Basic code to deal with. It's a good example of how far you
can go just using in-cell code.

The trades are then exported to these sheets.

There is a simple and easy to understand reporting section coded within each
cell at the end of the columns.

Enjoy ... just don't save any changes and you won't get into "trouble".

For a new workbook, I often copy the cell code to a notebook or Word file
for easy reference and "dissection".

Best regards
