"Metastock File Server will Terminate"

Metastock

When Signal is down (the data manager is red), I cannot load MS.
I get a message, as follows:

"Unable to attach to the Data Server.  Metasotck File Server will
terminate when this message is cleared."

Question:  How can I still use MS for my daily period charts when the
real time Signal data manager is red?
Is there a trick?
