ISO techniques to choose "best" among alternatives

Technical indicators and trading systems seem most useful for buy / hold /
sell
decisions about a single investment choice. That is, they are one-
dimensional. Much less is written or discussed about how to identify the
"best" choice for the moment among many similar choices. I am trying to
refine this second dimension to my analysis.

I would appreciate learning any short-term momentum Explorers or other
techniques that have worked well for you to be in the best choice.

I am a momentum investor and primarily trade among mutual funds (such as the
40
Fidelity Select Portfolios). I probably turnover one of my accounts about 9
times a
year. I rely heavily on an Explorer using Martin Pring's short-term KST using
daily
data (involving the last 45 days). As a weighted blend on rates of change for
different time periods the KST seem to do an excellent job of arraying the
mutual funds for momentum. The Explorer also compares today's KST to the
previous few days to show if the KST is up, down or flat.

In particular, I am trying to develop a trading system for switching among 4
volatile
ProFund funds (UltraOTC, UltraShort OTC, UltraBull and UltraBear) and money
market. Thus, I am looking for a tool more sensitive to even shorter term
momentum (for some positions as short as 1 or 2 days) and maybe overbought /
oversold oscillators.
