Below are the results of our weekly "Guess the Dow" sentiment survey.
The survey was taken from 12/21 through 1/3 on the Lowrisk.com web
site.
Number of participants: 342
30 day outlook:
48% bullish, 41% last week
37% bearish, 36% last week
15% neutral, 24% last week
(percentages may not sum to 100 due to rounding)
Median guess for the DJIA closing value on Friday, 2/12: 9348 (it
was 9335 last week). More complete sentiment data is available at

This is one of those weeks where the sentiment numbers just don't
tell us very much. The bulls picked up 7% to 48%, which is pretty
much to be expected in a week were the DJIA close up 238 points. The
big surprise was probably that the bears did not drop off, in fact
they actually gained 1% to 37%. The neutral camp was the big loser,
as evidently everyone made up their mind last week.
