Okay, I'll bite. (I have been trying to replace my old data vendor for one
year and 4 months now!) I have the computer savy to do "it right"! (At least
my version of right!) The only reason that restrains me is: Is there enough
interest to make it work?
Let's start off with a simple test. I need someone who can handle and or is
very compentent with the MS downloader! Any volunteers?
I will E-mail a test dataset to you.... To see if you (read: the MS
downloader), can handle it!
What "I" am looking for is:
- TSE, ASE, VSE, NYSE, AMEX, NASD (all tickers - all stocks)
- 80 (aprox) commodities, all open contracts (and expandable)
- all options for those contracts
- sent in standard ANSI 66 ASCII comma delimited format
- via packed E-mail
If anyone on this list has different interest(s), let me know, and I will
see what I can do about it! It is really amazing what is available in the
"wholesale" data market, albiet it is very expensive!
In essance, I want the information in the "Wall Street Journal", or any
other large business newspaper in electronic form!! They, the newspapers,
have it to print, so why can't I/we have it to graph???
So, the volunteer will also have to be able to handle PKUNZIP or WINZIP and
rather large exchange wide data files!
Anyone interested??
Dan H.
PS: How about it Guy T.???
I think you have the expertise to handle this!
