Having gone through that exercise more than once, I finally got smart (at
least about backups). I know I don't have the decipline to back up daily so
I use an automated backup via the net. It runs daily or nightly when I shut
down.

Take a look at:

	www.netstore.com

I think it costs me less than $10 a month and the couple of times I needed
it, it was worth it's weight in gold. I can recover back to whatever day I
want, however I usually just go to the last backup, which is yesterday's
EOD. The other reason I like this approach is that all of my stuff is
backed up off site. I don't know if you take the time to put your latest
backup in the trunk of your car, but any sort of major disaster will wipe
out your computer as well as your back up.

When First Interstate Bank had a fire here, the thing that saved their butts
(in their currency trading department that burnt up, was that they had a
policy of everybody backing up nightly and taking the backup diskettes home
with them. The next day they moved into temporary quarters, got some new
hardware, and were back in business.

Regards

Guy
